Venetian Brass Album
A 1974 recording of the music of Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli, Gioseppe Guami, Merulo da Corregio, Frescobaldi, and Antegnati, performed by members of the brass sections of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.The performances are in the "old" (pre-early music instrument age) style, but the performances of Miles Anderson on the bass trumpet and Roger Bobo on his one-of-a-kind custom-made contra-bass trumpet on the four part selections are truly brilliant and worth the price of admission.
